Stainless door top trim install - 70 Cuda
« on: November 24, 2009 - 01:07:22 PM »
Bought new stainless trim and the plastic install kit but am having a difficult time mounting the trim.  Just can not seem to get it to click in place on most of the clips.

Is there a science to this or what.

Appreciate some advice.

I dont know about the cuda's but if a challenger is the same then they are metal clips that slide onto the chrom and then push into the hole on the door.

Hope it helps.

the plastic clips seem to be the problem , they are to wide for the trim , I have had no success with the retainers they include

depending on which clips you have, you will have to trim the flashing off of the edge of the tapered side for the molding to snap down other wise it wont seat

Can you provide the hole locations for the quarter window trim for your 70 model?  Is there one of the holes that is offset more than the other three holes?

Thanks...

Thanks all for the advice.  Ended up trimming the stainless back a bit on the underside which enabled me to fit the stainless over the plastic clips, with the slight help of a rubber mallet.  No dents!  For E-body Products there are four holes on the quarter planel, three for the clips and one for the front bolt.  The middle hole/clip was offset from the rest.  Trim slid over them.

Thanks.
