steering coupler shoes...
« on: November 27, 2009 - 01:31:42 PM »
I am in the process of rebuilding my steering coupler..  Which way do the shoes go in? I know that the clip should be on the side, but the shoes could can go in 2 ways (tapered side pointing out or flat side pointing out)????

Thanks...

:clueless:  I didn't think that it mattered??   :dunno:  As long as the clip is on the side . . .

Yes, I did read that link before...  In that pic the "tapered" side of the shoes is facing "out"..  But the person who posted the link didn't know what the "shoes" were called, so I wasn't sure if he was right about the placement either... I just want to get it right before re-installing.................

Thanks..

I saw another website that had the tapered side facing out, so that is the way that I had installed the shoes.......  The coupler is now on.....    It feels better in the garage (less slack), taking her out for a test drive in a little while...
