1970-2009 Challengers

Since I had to move my Chally to get my Christmas deco's down from the attic I decided to take her for a spin.( It been about 6 months) I stopped by a local Dodge dealer for a photo op with the new Chally's. The lighting was bad but I did the best I could . For some reason I can't upload my pics directly so here is a direct link to my facebook page.

Cool, but it confirms my love for the 70-74 over the new ones.

Looks good! but :iagree: When I was buying my 70 I had to decide if I wanted an old one or a new one. I'm happy with my choice!

Then there are some of us here with both a 70 and an 09 model, and he has let me ride in the 09 model..............I haven't yet been invited to even sit in the 70 440 model.  :roflsmiley: It's all good MEK  :clapping:

Having both a '70 and a new one covers all bases.  Trying to compare the new one to the original is apples and oranges.
Certainly the vintage ones are more special because they are fairly rarely seen and most are to some extent "one of one" because of the huge numbers of possible options and colors available back then makes no two exactly alike (Actually I shouldn't say that, my T/A was one of 4 identical consecutively serial numbered ones!  :faint:)
But the interiors aren't as comfortable as the new ones, the suspension, steering and brakes aren't up to current standards, and let's face it, there is only a limited amount of use you can get out of a '70-'74, like taking it out for a fair weather cruise, or to a car show.  You probably aren't going to use it for a daily driver unless you live in a warm dry climate, and even then you have to worry about it every time you park it and can't keep an eye on it.
The new ones have great performance, comfortable interiors, lots of modern creature comforts, good size trunk, and you can drive them pretty much all the time (with the possible exception of snowy icy winter days). Even have factory warranties so none of this searching the world for a rare part stuff.
And most everyone loves the way the new ones look, they only look chunky if you park one next to an original. :2cents:
So, the best solution is to have both! :cooldancing: :burnout:
