Just the fender tag

I have the fender tag and under it on one end is a slim tag about 3" long x 1/2" wide with a symbol or letter "c" cut through it like it was punched out.  On the fender tag, in a blank spot at the top,  is a faint "16" in about 3/8" size. I have no build sheet and my door tag is from another car because the driver's door was changed.  PK

I guess you can`t make a legit fender tag from the biuldsheet like we all thought, only a "fake" one.  :clueless:

"Tim , depending on the plant the car was built at it is not possible to make a correct tag because not all the info on the tag is printed on the Broadcast sheet. Lynch Rd. for instance has codes that can't be found on any documentation available that I have ever seen or found. "

I always thought that if you had the biuldsheet you couyld make an accurate fender tag but I guess in some cases you can`t.Anyone know if e-bodies have all the info on the biuld sheet for a fender tag?

As far as I know, the only E-Body broadcast sheets that do not contain all the fender tag info are for the 1974 models. They have a three digit number on them that changes & it is not noted on the sheets.

Fender tag was/still on my car.  I found the build sheet in the rear seat when I recovered it.  I sent a pic of my build sheet to the Hamtrack '71 Registry Site   My car was originally a 225 slant six!

Fender tag was still on my car, build sheet was behind the rear seat untouched. My car isn't anything special tho, 73 challenger with a 318 and 3 speed on the floor. Guess it could be considered a survivor if it weren't for the sublime repaint over the original black.

My Challenger R/T Vert  Fender Tag Only... There were a few very small traces of broadcast sheet mixed in with the rats nest under the seats but it literally was a rats nest...

My Coronet R/T Vert  Fender Tag Only...  Zero evidence of a broadcast sheet...

My Old U code R/T SE Challenger which was a two tag car.. One Tag & Two perfect broadcast sheets... I had registered the car with SIAC back around 1982 part of which was writing down all the codes on the fender tags, plus listing all the options on the car... It was early in the hobby & guys were trying to learn all about the codes... The newsletter had regular articles about codes & options...

A few years later after nearly killing myself & the car a few times (Insert scary story here) I had taken the car off the road to rebuild/restore it (And keep myself outta trouble)  So I took everything apart & the fender tags would up in a coffee can... I know normally this ends with the tag lost, but since my car had two tags only one got lost... :roflsmiley: Luckily I had the 1st tag & was only missing the 2nd tag...

Anyway I got the car restored, new paint, interior engine trans & back on the road around 1990 & had some fun with it.. Then got a convertible & the R/T SE wound up sitting more than driving... I sold it in 1997...

Around 1993 I been lurking at a few Mopar sites for a few years but never really joined or posted anywhere... But there was a thread over on Moparts by a guy who when by "Alaskan T/A" it seems he'd recently taken possession of the files of the now defunct SIAC & he was going through allot of info & was hoping to connect paperwork back with cars.....   :big smile:  Well I finally had to join a website.. Even though I'd sold my R/T SE I knew the current owner & since I lost the tag I figured it would be pretty cool to get the new owner the info so he could replace it...   I contacted Barry & he said he'd keep an eye out while going through the files.... A few days later I got a PM from Barry

2013  I was lucky and got a non driving 1971 challenger  cheap over the phone , and when I got the car home I found out that it was a real export car Schinznach CH ,  one of the first 1971 models  1B100166  ,with Schinznach fendertag & US fendertag. some weeks later I removed the rear seat and found the Broadcast sheet,  with some rare parts no.  like 2863223 heavy duty 18" fan . It was also still having the original 383" & 727  in car.
I traced the original ovner in CH (91 year old man at a retirement home ) and got his storie about the car.
I replaced ignition switch and some fuelhoses and the car has been running since.
