Chrome trim tap

Hi am going to change the tap or foam that goes under the trim that goes on top of the door glass .I got a kit today there is 2 kind of tap one is like foam that can be tap on .The other roll is only foam can any one tell me how and where they go,if you have a pic it will also help thanks
