Suspension Question

Hello all,
I'm putting my Challenger Back together and I have attached some pictures of the ride height that I plan to establish. Is this stock height? Can anyone recommend a company to get my leaf springs and Torsion bars from? i've been told Springs & Things but they don't sell torsion bars. I am running a 360/904 setup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

From looking at the pictures of the tires in the wheel wells, It looks about the right ride height to me.  Your car looks great in the picture.  You want it up higher?

This is not my car. It is the height that I want to establish. Would you say that this is stock height? I'm trying to order my leaf springs and torsion bars. I just need advice on where to purchase them from.

The front is adjustable, so ride height is up to you and a 3/4" socket.  I got the .96 torsion bars from Mancini. 

You could probably figure that XHD springs would be right, but search on here for rear leaf options as several have been disappointed with the MP pieces.

I got my leafs from ESPO, asked for +1", but that was too high for me.  Luckily I have the rear hangers that have 2 positions so I could lower it.  From your pic it looks like you have the same tastes as I do.  Want it to have a little rake but no gap between wheel well and tire.  Mine just covers, as stated the front is easy to adjust.

From what I've read, steer clear of the XHD, these are +2" at least, you'll be going downhill all the time.

Mine rears are actually Super Stock springs with 2" spacer blocks to lower the car back down.

We've had many discussions here about this subject and most (including myself) have complained tha the MP XHD springs make our cars look like they have half a dozen dead bodies in the trunk.

From what I remember, Springs & Things +1's did the trick for several people.

By contrast, you have people like me who though the XHD springs sat too high and I'm converting to zero arch oval track springs to get things even lower.

A few things to keep in mind; mopar never specified a rear ride height. It was always just whatever it was. They did specify that in installed position, the leaf should only have a 2" arch to them. To get the height most are after requires some amount of additional arch over stock. The overall weight and distribution of that weight on your car can impact this and a +1 for one car could turn in to a +3 for another.

Unfortunately because of all the variables, leaf springs are not as easy to nail down as many other things. But there are also alternatives to making minor adjustments to put things exactly where you want. I'd recommend talking to a custom maker, like Espo, tell them what you have now, where it all sits currently and where you want to go. They can then build a pack that will get you very close to what you want.

Well, the wife's in the hospital (I'm here with her now) and it's been a rough week.  :bricks1:

Another personal observation of mine is that Cudas don't seem to have the "droopy drawers" syndrome like the Challengers do. Maybe something to do with the 2" difference in wheelbase?
