My advise to you is to educate yourself on what is out there from all the aftermarket suppliers.  There will always be little snags from replacing the old with the "New".  Don't get frustrated, just step back, think, ask questions as there is a ton of advise out on the web.  You have to decide which is good or bad and if it fits your situation.  Keep the faith buddy.....It wouldn't be hot roddin' if you didn't have to think!

The tranny may not be old mopar, but I know one thing it's not,GM.I can only imagine the amount of ball-busting I would get for putting that trans in my car.It is not my cup of tea. That transmission(the GM) may be the better option, but I would like to try this if it does not work out so well, then I will install a 68 318 I have with a 2.94 rear (I think thats what the rear is)
I just kinda think it would be cool to have the efi 5.9 w/OD,from the van, more modern stuff,in the old Challenger, kinda like as if Dodge had done it.
I would love to do a 5.7 hemi w/od,but that kinda stuff costs money.
No disrespect to the GM stuff,I just like Dodge. Thanks for the info on this swap!

There is nothing "better option" about the GM 4L60-E,you are going to have unique parts so if you break something or wear something out ,you will HAVE to go to Kiesler to get the parts and pay THEIR price. The 518/46RE is a stronger trans any way. Keep it MOPAR!!! It may be newer, but it is still a "relative" of the old Torqueflite.
