Suddenly lost spark, on two cars!

Ole #16, the fluffy red wire I do believe... Poor contact can still allow some juice through that cuts out when load is present...Good Sleuthing

That's the one, and of course the first one I checked, just not thoroughly enough. It took physically removing the bulkhead and using stiff emery cloth torn into thin strips and lots of patience to clean the inside contacts.

B.D, the one spot that needs the most love and attention but is the most overlooked on the whole dang car!

Well, as it is now the power is intermittent. I relpaced the turn signal cam, tried to check operation and no power. Still the same story, I think it just worked for that moment as I had everything hooked up just not fully mounted (the fusebox) after putting it all back together, nothing.

Would it be wise to just cut and splice #16 out of the disconnect?
Should I jam something metal like braided wire into the spot on the BD to improve contact?
I REALLY WANNA DRIVE MY RATTY R/T!!!!!

You could Hack  & Splice all day long but until you ID the problem your just shooting in the dark.
Get your volt meter out & really study the connections. Wiggle, move, test in small sections

I have done just that twice, and I really dont want to hack #16, I'll try a third time

Sometimes the female half of the connection doesn't get a good grip on the blade. The heat of a bad connection causes extra expansion. You may have to remove the female connector from the BD and either replace or slightly squeeze the connector to improve the connection.

I was able to get #16 female and male connectors out (without breaking anything for a change LOL) sanded, cleaned and connected. Before, the tester was showing a weak battery, now it pegs like it should, and I have power to every spot that I check.

I am going to take out every connector and clean/ sand bend, get it all working and pack the facking BD with dilectric

It seems I'll need to do this on every dang one of the cars so this crap doesn't happen again!

Before I put the thing together again, I was giving the BH a working over and lo and behold the problem has FINALLY?? shown itself. # 18 THE GROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how could I have been so neglegent, so blind, so sure it had to do with power???

The facking wire is all swollen with cracked insulation and in very poor condition. I shall give it a working over and, once again, give everyone an update

at least by looking again you found the problem,,grounds are sometimes very elusive
