Column shift to floor shift conversion...who's done it?
« on: December 08, 2009 - 10:30:09 AM »
My Challenger is awesome, save for one thing, the automatic on the column .  I'd like to change to floor shift with console.  Who's done this and what are the issues I have to look forward to?  I'd like to change the column as well so it looks original.  What's involved with that conversion?  Any advice would be appreciated as I gather parts.  I'd rather learn from your experience than make my own mistakes!!!

Thanks!

M

you will need a lot of parts ,
floor brackets , all the shift linkage , different lever on the tranny as well as the support bracket for the tranny & possibly a tailhousing if the provision for it is not on the tranny housing , you need a different column of course & the consle & slap stik shifter .
you will need to cut a hole through the floorfor the linkage & weld the brakets to the floor in the correct position
