1973 Barracuda Brake Pad Thickness
« on: December 08, 2009 - 01:12:32 PM »
Is the overall thickness of the brake pad different for the inside vs outside pads?  I kept track of which side of the car the pads came off but didn't keep track of inside vs outside.  I machined the surface off all the pads using a fly cutter and installed them today.  It seemed like two were thicker and I put these towards the inside of the car.  I'm guessing with floating calipers it wouldn't matter, but I don't have my car in front of me right now to figure it all out.

Thanks!
Dave

if the wear is uneven the piston or the caliper could be sticking & not moving freely , the pads should be even thickness unless one pad is significantly smaller in sutface area
