molding removal tool
« on: December 09, 2009 - 12:37:53 PM »
Hi Guys,
I need to change out some of the clips that hold on my front windshield stainless molding. There is a tool made by Eastwood to unhook the clips and make removal easier. The tool is like a thin metal arrowhead and costs just $5 to buy.
The problem is that Eastwood want $44 to send me one to the uk,thats a crazy price theres no way it costs that much!
Anyhow as i can't get one any where else, i thought i would try to make one.
So, if any of you have one of these molding removal tools i need to know the dimensions,so i can make one.

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE ?                     :feedback:

You could always watch this episode - I believe it's around the 12:50 time mark:

I hope that helps.

Dont know if you have Lisle brand tools over there but they make one as well. Might try an auto parts or body shop supply store.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I used one of these in a pinch.  I bet you could grind the angle pretty easy to match.  A little masking tape on the glass and paint is a good idea too.
