Spring Relocation Kit?
« on: December 10, 2009 - 10:21:56 AM »
Anyone know if there's a difference in Spring Relocation Kits?  I am looking to mini-tub my cuda and wanted to get some but didn't know if there's a big difference in manufacturers vs where to get them from.   :dunno:

Get them from Dr. Diff. He has sets fro 1" to 1.5"  $185 I think.  Don't go to wide as you start getting into the fuel line area by the right front spring hanger. I modify my own front hangers 1" then buy Dr. Diff's offset rear shackles for $55.  I only go 1" so that I can drop the b-body rear in without welding on the perches.

There are three basic kits out there; the Mopar 3/4", the Dr Diff 1", and the Mopar 3" kit. The 3/4" and 1" kits bolt into existing structures and allow drop in, bolt up of B body rears. 3" kit requires cutting and welding. Most places you see these for sale will be one of these three variations.

Minitubbing an e-body?  I just don't see how much more room you're going to get w/o re-locating the frame rails. :dunno:

I have a friend that moved his inner wheelhouses to the frame. You can't tell unless you know what you're looking at. It is stock looking except for his wide tires that you see from behind.   I'm happy with my 295-50s on my 10" rims that fit the stock Challenger wheelhouses.

I beleive XV has squeezed 335 in their L2 Challengers. This was possible by eliminating the spring interference and not touching the well its self. Open up the wheel tub, and I'd bet you can stick some really big shoes in there before frame rails become a problem.
