The carpet is NOT listed on the website.  You just need to call them to order it.

The carpet is accually made by a different company.  It is the same carpet that you can buy from a few other places.  I'm not possitive but it maybe the same stuff that Legendary sells.  What makes it unique is that ECS pays to have it shipped flat.  That is the only reason the price is higher.

Check this out, pretty good read.  Why pay double just for shipping?
I'm going to order the Plush through RockAuto.

Thanks for the info, I believe the carpet is much higher quality and a much more exact repop than the others, I already have a 5 year old carpet that was black and now appears purple. If I read the MOPARTS thread correctly Dave won't be shipping carpet til next year as he is moving the company, I'm sure I can wait til he is settled.

Cheers,
Steve

What I took out of the Moparts info is ECS does not do anything special (other than have it shipped flat).
It is the exact same carpet ACC sells to everybody else.

If you find out he get's different carpet, please post it, I'd really be surprised.

There are two advantages to buying the carpet from ECS.  The first reason is that the carpet is shipped flat.  Since it isn't rolled up, there are no fitment issues.  The carpet will fit the car like it's supposed to.  The second advantage is that ECS orders NEW carpet.  All of the carpet you buy is NEW.  If you order it from another company, the carpet could have been rolled up, sitting on a shelf for years.

One other thing that the Moparts thread touched on is the fact that the 80/20 loop carpet has a tendancy to turn purple.  I think this still would be an issue even with the ECS carpet.  I don't know for sure...but that's what was said on the other thread.  I believe the newer Challengers had cut pile carpet anyway so for owners of those cars it shouldn't be an issue.

I put ACC's in NIKKI over the summer. Came rolled (not to tight) in a box. I let it breathe for about 2 weeks on the garage floor. No issues..  :2cents:   :dunno:

Here is Daves answer on MOPARTS

ACS Dorsett was bought by ACC and are the folks responsible for the proper fit and correct construction of the carpet. ACS does not sell to the public. This is where just about every set of carpeting comes from. I have worked with the other firms mentioned here in an attempt to have factory "like" carpeting manufactured. We have stopped ordering carpet at this time because we are moving to a newly built/larger facility at the end of December. We are reducing our larger inventory items in an effort to make the move easier. Every set of carpet is stocked and packaged in a double corrugated box that measures 74" X 34" X 12". After we are established in the new location we will start ordering a new supply, contingent on the demand. I do not believe that ANY other carpet distributor offers the "shipped flat" carpet that we do. The others roll and smash the factory contours out of the carpet by compressing and forcing it into small boxes. I hope this clears up some of the information regarding our carpeting line. Thanks!!

That's an amazing car but my guess is that was NOS carpet that Dave found.  I'm not sure but that's my guess.  If a part is not factory, you automatically loose half the points available for that part.  Dave only lost tenths of points in a few catagories on that car.  The NOS parts he was able to come up with for that thing is just unreal.

I'm still questioning the supplier of the carpet.  So the company was bought by ACC, so in reality the carpet is ACC carpet.  I realize he buys a pallet of carpet and then repackages it and ships it flat.  I'm just questioning the need to pay an extra $150 for that service.

To each his own.
