Headlight switch....
« on: September 04, 2004 - 12:59:36 PM »

CP.. I'm sure hoping you'll know the answer to this one... ::) ::) Bought a new headlight switch from Year One, just pulled my original one out of the dash... here's the problem... seeing as how it's a pull type switch, how do I transfer the shaft from the original to the new one?? ???

Oh, forgot to mention... old is on the left and new is on the right! ;)

I've attached a pic to help explain what I mean!

LB, there should be a small round spring loaded knob on the side opposite the plug prongs (the bottom in your picture). Pull the shaft all the way out to the full on position, then push in on the spring loaded knob and hold it in while you pull the shaft the rest of the way out.

Thanks 392 and CP!! That was a piece of cake!!

CP... the knob just pulls right off... aside from pulling the original shaft right out, that was the only way I saw to get the old unit out and the new one in!! ::) ::) I got it swapped, so all is good!!
