Rough Ride?

I have 17" wheels on my challenger and it too rides a tad rough.  I still have the stock small block torsion bars on even after changing the engine to a 440. Before the spring I will change those out, probably to 1" bars. Still debating on whether to change the shocks at that time. though form what I am hearing edelbrock seems the way to go.

That's good input ericindc and drewcrane.  I likewise have a 440 in my challenger now, and I think I'll go with the 15" wheel when I make the change.

I dunno, it rides rough, but only in relation to a modern car... and compared to my CJ7, it rides on a puffy cloud of fat angel butts.  I REALLY like the look of bigger wheels on the challenger, I think 15, is too small. I think 17s are a good balance.

I'm running 18's all around (235/40 and 275/40).  I have Super Stock springs on the rear with a 1.0" sway bar.  0.960" T-bars on the front with 1.125" sway bar.  The car has a small block.

It's pretty firm and can be very harsh on bumps, especially when both rear wheels "drop" at the same time.  That said, it's ridiculous around a corner and has less body roll than anything I've been in including Vipers and Supras.

I bet that is rough.  Roll with 17's.  It'll let you get the right backspacing, too.

I really like the look of those wheels, they are a smidgen too big imho, 18s, or 17s would look about right.

-Very short sidewall
-Heavy 20" rims (weigh much more than 15x7 steel rims)
-convertible chassis (not inherently as rigid at hardtop)

  At slow speed (5mph) the suspension won't deflect that much either.
