Key Buzzer for 1972 Challenger
« on: December 17, 2009 - 05:45:52 PM »
Hello,

My Challenger owner's manual talks about a key buzzer, but mine isn't working.  Does anyone know if the buzzer can go bad or be replaced?  Where is it located?

Thanks

The buzzer could be unplugged or gone bad from moisture or whatever, My car is a 70 and it is made of meteland just underneath the glove box area.  They are esy to get at and available to purchase

Thanks Moparal.  I'll check it out. I'm betting that mine is bad b/c everything else on the car has needed to be replaced.   :banghead:

By '73 the Horn Relay & key in ignition buzzer are combined & found plugged into the fuse block, I believe that is what you will find on 71-74s.  Does your horn work?

HM my horn relay is on the box and the buzzer is by the glove box.  Can a relay also be a buzzer?

my challenger is a 72 but sold in 71  early production, and the buzzer is in plugged into the fuse box and your problem my lie in the ignition switch wires,,mine works 50% of the time, when it quits I can move the plug at the bottom of the column that runs from the igntion and make it work again, but I put in a new buzzer before I found it

The buzzers are horrible sounding. I don't know of too many that keep it in constantly. Eventually you can't take it anymore and in the glove box it goes.
