this idea sounds feasible as well.
That's the way I'd tackle it. Your car is in too good of shape to remove anything you don't have to remove.

The AMD power bulge hood is awesome!

Sweet, glad to see you've come over to the dark side then!  :poopoke:

i like them all. everyone had cutting edge designs. gm,ford, amc, but chrysler had everyone beat in the design department my opinion.

i've been a mopar guy at heart since i was a teenager watching the dukes of hazard. my favorite dream car has always been a 71 hemi cuda.

....but as i've gotten older i came to appreciate the 70 challenger. i really took more notice of it after the 1996 remake of vanishing point and after a friend bought a rotisserie restored 440 magnum R/T a couple of years ago. i love the distinct lines and the grille and taillights are gorgeous. it just screams "muscle"

I honestly can't see anything wrong with the AMD hood. I'll know more once I get to the final panel alignment and bodywork.

I like them so much, my current one is the third one I've owned!

i fell into that habit with the 70 chevelles. they are all project cars. the hardtop is almost done. i did extensive sheetmetal replacement to one of the convertibles. that one is ready for bodywork and paint. the second convertible is going up for sale shortly. i am getting burnt out with extensive metal replacement projects.

youre right. the car is way too nice to start removing solid pieces in order to fit that pan. cutting the pan over one of the frame rails sounds like the best bet.

 It won't be a 318 car when I'm done. I found a few 10K cars for sale that needed extensive work before I bought the one I ended up with. I figured I might as well dive in deep and buy a cheap turd!. No difference between BB and SB K members. Hemi and 6 are both different.

Wow looks like a solid project to restore. Any build sheet or fender tags?

and youre right. once you have restored a rusty car and know what youre doing, you might as well find one that scares most people away and you can buy it cheap.
