Anyone know what the difference is between the auto and 4 spd consoles?  Any pics to help out?  Thanks, Tyler

the bottom lip is notched out to give clearance for the shift boot , also the opening in the top plate is larger & further back for the Pistol to fit through

Here's a picture of the side, a little dark, but you can see the chrome plate peeking thru.  Hope it helps.

You could cut the bottom, but I tried cutting the side and had a heck of a time getting it right, matter of fact, never did.  I bought the lower part for maybe $50 and cleaned and sprayed it black to match the upper I had and it worked out pretty good.  If I hadn't lucked into a 4-speed console at a swap meet, I was planning on converting an Auto by making a top plate out of wood and cutting the lower.  Only thing I couldn't figure out was how to get a template for the top plate.  If you decide to make a top plate, I could trace my plate for you.

this stuff is good to know.. i may just go ahead and buy a 4 speed console. I have my Keisler 5-speed on the way to me.  I still have to buy all the conversion stuff from auto to manual. so it will be this winter before it all goes in.

On the four speed console (I have an auto I am converting over), I saw on Ebay where one guy is selling templates for about $10.00 to modify the lower console and another company (in Washington State I think) manufactures aluminum top plates for 4 speeds, though I think you still have to buy the woodgrain decal for it. Havent pursued it (yet) mainly because I havent decided whether I want the "bare carpet/shifter look" or the console. Has anyone used/seen these and are they any good?

Thanks
Jeff
