Longer wheel studs
« on: December 21, 2009 - 07:43:47 PM »
I am looking for longer wheel studs for my Challenger, I am wanting the the ones with the dog ends and a direct install.
Iwas told once that i am looking for ford truck wheels studs.
If any one has experience with finding said studs and or what I think I am looking for please chime in.
Part numbers are even better.
Thanks.
Jackson from Toronto.

There are multiple sources for these from Summit, Jegs, Speedway, etc.  Just make sure you use a .615 knurl for the front discs, and I think a .635 knurl for the rear axle.

I just orderd Papco wheel nuts/studs

front part#  560-441   1/2-20 x 2 3/16 .623 knurl dia
 I measured the

Thanks guys, but I was looking for the long ones with the so called dog ends from a ford.
Rick Ehrenburg suggested them a few issues ago in Mopar action but I can't seem to find the story.
It helps with cross threading the nut.

If you know someone with a lathe std long studs can be turned down easily.  Its not a precision job.

Not sure what a dog end is. Is it a smoothed and rounded end? These guys have them in avariet of sizes.

The front studs I used have that feature. What size are you wanting? 1/2 or 5/8? You will need longer studs with our rims though.

ah 1/2" is what I used. I meant you will need longer studs with our rims as the stock ones are only hanging on by 1/2" when you measure every thing up.
