Should have posted yesterday, but with the holidays been busy.
I can't get close to Christmas without thinking of my Challenger because back on the 23rd in '01 was the day I brought my car back from Virginia.
I had been looking for a Mopar to replace the Super Bee clone ( 69 Coronet that had a 440 ) I had and loved. Moved from my parents house into an appartment, and they said I couldn't leave it behind.
So, long story short I had my house and started my family, and had the opportunity to buy a new to me car.
I had narrowed my search down to an e-bod, and found mine in Spotsylvania Virginia.
I left work on December 22nd with a cashiers check and a trailer, and made my way down, spending the night in West Virginia.
Hitched the car on the 23rd, and drove back to Cleveland.
It had been unusually warm, and despite the Christmas tunes there had been no snow, on my trip or at home.
I came back into Cleveland with my new toy in tow, around 10:00 PM December 23rd, and as exiting the freeway ramp 5 minutes from my home, it began a light rain, only enough to lightly wet the top.
I unloaded the car and called it a night.
On Christmas Eve, I drove my new purchase around the block a couple of times, still grinning ear to ear, and could not believe the luck that not only was it warm, but dry too.
It snowed that Christmas, and the car slept in till spring...
I regret nothing with my car, and will never part with it.
And despite my wife's claim that that was my gift for the next 50 year's,I started getting gifts again shortly after
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all, I just wanted to share my story.
