razzum frazzum!!! drum conundrum
« on: December 25, 2009 - 02:29:35 PM »
 :swear: :banghead:

so, here i was all excited to get started on my drum swap, so i figured id pop em out of the boxes, and spray em up so they at least look good for a while.
but lo and behold this is what i see!!!

the silver one on the right is considerably lighter due to the lack of the full ring.
and has no balance weight.
the black one is balanced (theoretically) and has the full ring.

which to use?
im going to go back to the parts house and get one of them replaced so the set matches.
any thoughts here would be greatly appreciated.
thanks .

Have you tried either drum on the car to make sure they fit, clear shoes and backing plate?
Just looking at the pic's the drum on the right appears to have a slightly higher mounting face. Also the left one with the full ring, does it clear the backing plate lip.   :2cents:

"He was in a quandary..."

The one on the left looks more correct to me.

You'll only find weight(s) if the casting is far enough out of balance to warrant any.
