I didn't think you could install the engine with the headers attached before hand?  Just wondering.

I prefer the contrast of the shiny brass freeze plugs.  I do clean out the bores and I use a tiny bit of sealant.  As I was taught in school.

The headers are just there for the picture.

Looks great.

The only thing I would change if it were me is the Thermostat chrome housing to either an aluminum or cast iron one.

I never had any luck with them. They eventually all ended up leaking and making a green mess. O ringed one's, I haven't tried yet.

Well, as I stated before, I am just the wrench on this project .  Although I gave advice on most of the build, some things were out of my power, like chrome waternecks  :screwy:....

The thermostat did not fit will into the recessed area, which is probably why most of these have problems.  I had to file down the outer diameter of the thermostat itself to get it to fit snugh inside the housing.  Unless the waterneck itself breaks down from corrosion, I don't anticipate any leaks.

The MP/chrome water housings are not flat fromt he factory... nor do they stay that way after one flattens them...lol. I use cast iron ones now. Cheap and affective..lol.

Cool on the freeze plugs.

Getting close to having the engine in the car and breaking in the cam...  Should be fun as it will be open headers for the break in.

We are looking for the bracket that bolts on the rear of the intake manifold that the throttle lever attaches to.   (the engine was a semi-basket case so there were a lot of missing parts).

Anyone know where we can get one??

Will post pics when the engine is in the car.

Well,  I guess I shoulda posted this a long time ago...

Got the engine in the car, but I never got to see/hear it run as I moved across the country at the beginning of March. 

I did get some pictures before I left though.
