Bad luck for my brother in law
« on: December 29, 2009 - 07:46:42 AM »
My wifes brother had some bad luck yesterday at work. He was changing a flat tire on a big outdoors forklift when it fell off of the jacks and crushed his right hand.   :22yikes:   It is looking like he will probably lose two fingers and maybe more. The hand specialist will see him today and make a decision. Every bone in his hand is crushed. OUCH!  Whether he keeps the fingers/hand or not, he will face many more surguries and months of rehab/therapy. He makes his living with his hands. Talk about tough luck for the holidays......     :bricks1:

Sorry to hear that Ken. Glad it wasn't worse such as a loss of life. It will be a long road ahead for him. I hope & pray for the best and that he gets the best medical care available. I almost lost a couple of fingers from a gunshot wound to the hand when I was 16. It is amazing what modern medicine can do.  :angelwings:

That's some terrible news. I'm guessing he is right handed? If so, the rehab will be especially tough. Best of luck to him and your family OS.

Ouch!

I hope all goes well. A pal had a similar thing happen with his foot years ago. Other than losing one toe for good he healed up fine.
