Avitar size?

So what is the best size to make your avitar so it doesn't keep resizing it when you load a page?

150 X 150 is the recommended size...

Mine is 140X100, but if you get close to 200, then you get scroll bars.

Some members avatars are so big, it takes up my whole screen for a bit untill it resizes. It is a pain sometimes

  Decided to put up a pic of my Challenger as an avatar the other day, resized down to 150 X 112, sometimes it posts normal sometimes it has scroll bars?

Mines 150x112  and works great

Some sites put a limit on the avatar size and the large ones won't load, I had to reduce my avatar from this site down to 19k on one site.
