Figured I'd post some good news here. Looks like 2010 will shape up nicely for me. My new computer is working out well. My stripe kit sales are staying strong even through a usually dead week. And I now have at least 6 customers lined up for restoration/paint work.
So far I have a '67 Satellite that I am about to start body work on - it's already in my shop. Plan on jumping on it this coming week
A 70 RR that I am helping the owner re-assemble after it has sat around for 4 years while he struggled with time demands. It's fully painted and he just needs a hand putting her back together -starting on it tomorrow am. We're doing this one in his hanger at a local small airport
My boss's '92 Z28 that needs a paint job. Right now it is at a Speed Shop getting a new 2010 LS3 engine and 5 speed tranny installed. The engine came out of his brother's 2010 Camaro. He pulled it and dropped in a Supercharged LS7
It's got over 600 hp to the wheels with only 5#'s of boost
Another local Mopar Nut needs his '73 Scamp's roof & decklid painted - it's got a BAD 383 in it and he's making it into a nostalgic type of race car. We may even put a US flag on the roof.
I met with another guy on this past Sunday. He is going to have me paint his son's '73 Swinger back to it's original Rallye Red.
And finally, I met with another guy from Ohio yesterday that was picking up a '72 Charger here locally. He saw my ad on Craiglist for stripes and then went to my website and saw some of my work. We hooked up last night and he actually dropped off the car for me to do the paint & body on plus he wants me to do the headliner and replace the dash pad and vinyl roof. Thankfully, he does not want the car until this Summer. Very cool car though - it's a factory 400 BB car and is actually EV2 Hemi Orange. It even looks like original paint on the car. Not a survivor type of car though as the paint is worn through over a lot of the car and there is clearly some rust issues under the vinyl top.
Plus, there's about 2 or 3 guys in the warehouses where I have my shop that want some things done to their pickups
Oh well - I'd better enjoy the day off today. Looks like it might be my last one for a long time
