I guess I don't have to wonder why we didn't get much done, I'm the one under the hood!

Got back to work on that bowed out fender, had to slice the brace 5 times to get the arch out, all welded up now.
I have to fix all the damage I did outside & match up the lines at the door, back to putty work! (thumbs down!) Rich.
looks a lot better from this angle than it did before!
before & after!

Spent the "Beautiful" day tappin out threads, & hangin more misc junk(& it my case some of it is!) got a few more dohickies on around the eng bay!repainted over all my hard work to clear a few parts, just didn't look good, used metal mask, weird color but all I had left laying around, most of it will be covered anyway, also hung the proportioning valve & the front brake lines, had to rebend the drivers side, should be ok!

Got some of the drivers side front suspension on, good thing there's 2 sides & even#'s of hardware, had to go back to the pass side & correct a few "minor" errors!  eek!  Rich.

Finally got up the courage to start stripping the backup hood to see what I have, got some work to do, but not near as bad as the other, the main damage areas!

borowed a real spotter & slide hammer & went to town, got the worst areas done(dent wise) , the pass side tapped down nicely, I think I'm gonna cut out the holy section in the front & patch in some new metal, scoop area not sure yet?(cont'd next post!) Rich.

Decided to try & deskin the old hood & see exactly what was lurking in there, well seems the por 15 (where it did get) acts like construction glue, so the skin did NOT come off easy, I did manage to save the scoop areas which is the area I really needed!

Well proves my earlier conclushion, no more acid dips without ecoat, you just cant flood the por 15 between layers of metal!
so afterwards I added a half hour of destructive joy to the gaxzillion hours I had in that hood! (sawsall was already warmed up)
the remains ready for a final trip to the junk yard, a future honda???? Rich.

Worked the easy patch today, got a good look at what lurks beneath, I'm definatly gonna de-skin this baby, thinkin a makin a dip tank of my own & using that "safe" rust remover on it.then I'm gonna try eastwoods rust encapsulator on the guts! I DO NOT wanna go through a replay of the last hood, this one is nowhere near as bad, but if I leave that in there it WILL BE!  Rich.

Hey Rich, what do you call that little wingnut type clamp you got on there? I think that is sweet! Nice job, you've come a long way from what I can see in the experience department. You should be able to write a book of the doos and don'ts involved with restoring a rusty project!! You have done some amazing things! Looking good!

Mostly the Dont's so far!  "frown"   But I am learning!
I got em from eastwood, there's a square hole on the bottom of the spacer, slide in a dowel & the wing nut pulls it tight, wont get the dowel back till I de-skin the hood though!
ohh I coulda posted that in the Name that part thread! Darn!(I will later if ya can keep a secret(like no one else will see it here) DOH! Rich.
