Dried my tears & back at it, dumpped out another box of junk, gotta make something useful otta this mess!

Belts surprised me(pleasently) lowers only need the retractor bases painted, belts ok & chrome cleaned up with no pits, the shoulder belts didn't fare so well, pitts in the chrome & the belts are faded, well if I don't buy others i'll just paint the metal & dye the belts!

Since I have the only dash frame that needs body work i'll live with a few tiny imperfections in the glove door & ash tray, got the bad spot on the frame ok & messed up another area! I'll get it yet!

Well time for Christmas break, hate to waste a warm day but heck it's Christmas eve
Got a free day monday to clean up my mess in the shop & get ready for an install tues, might actually get a few bills paid!

Back at it again, still cleaning up & getting parts ready, did the jack & the motor mounts the last few days!

Started cleaning up the steering column , might need some help gettin this back together, the spring clip on the ? coupler pot? was broken, but I'll post up when I get the rebuild kit. Rich.

As usual Rich, those parts look great, the jack came out looking better than ever. It's amazing the amount of work you can get done when you put your mind to it. Looking good Rusty!

Been playing with that column for a couple a days now, managed to drop it & break off the plastic turn signal end , need a new post anyway a bit pitted, but glued it back on for now, she's not perfect(or the right color) but it'll look good in the dark!
now I gotta find a place to put it so I don't mess it up!  Rich.

Been workin(no I haven't quit ...............YET)
on more of the little stuff, got the heater box apart , I think I'm missing the fresh air vent, is there a second flap on the pass side(like the round one on the drivers side, there's a rod up there but either the vent damper is gone or I misplaced it(the plastic mount where the rod bolts down was broken?)
Most of the metal parts are painted, just need to order the foam kit to rebuild, got the squirrel cage(Thanks again Jeff) here's the mess after i discarded the mouse carcus!

One of the rear window guts were in the same box so I had my way with them too!

Also messed with the heater switch, had to dismantle anyway cause the texture paint was badly scratched up & the silver lettering gone, anyone know where to buy that paint?
parts are clean, just have to find the paint & put it back together!

   As ususal, I'm glad you post all of these pictures, just goes to show you that many parts can come out looking new that look like scrap to begin with! Nice work, now what's your address so I can send my steering column, heater box, dash and well, why don't I just send the whole car?  With all your progress it makes me want to get more done, thanks Rusty, keep it up!!

Just in storing the stuff I never imagined how many parts there were on a car, now that I have to clean & prep em all (some taken down even smaller) it's endless, I was estimating 2 more years, don't know now, sure wish........ 1st that all this stuff was availabe new & 2nd that I was rich so I could afford to buy it! Rich.

Eastwood has something called Black Wrinkle Finish Paint (10014Z) which lists Dashes as one place to use. They also have Almost Chrome (10352Z) or Reflective Aluminum (10005Z) which might work for the brightwork.
