hesitating on putting the firewall insulation, the heater box & dash in the car before winter, don't want the little critters to chew it all up :swear:
But another large piece is ready to go in! :naughty: Rich.

The metal thingy you have circled is for mounting the heater box, it hooks into the cowl opening & you tighten the nut to secure.

BTW need to change the date on your camera. My mind is bad enough without having to figure that out.  :grinno:

Looks excellent rich, by the looks of your work ,you really take the time to do things the right way. You going to have a very impressive car when its done!
I must ask, do you put that tarp over your new paint job or is there a car cover underneath the tarp?

Well there is a dust cover underneath the tarp, but at this point it's not really needed, I have about half of it roughed up for the next coat of the clear, many chips & imperfections to try & touch up before final paint is done, hood is still in primer with a corner that needs to be worked before paint.I'm trying to get the car back on the ground & all body panels alligned before i go back to bodywork, I'm hoping to have it close to or maybe even running by next spring, do the remaining body work & shoot the (hopefully) last coats a paint in the fall(if I don't screw up the clear again)  after that I will start (or continue) on the interior.
She's a 20 footer now, would like to get it down to a 10 footer before I say thats all she wrote for this car, the 74 I hope to have learned enough to make that a 5 footer!

Got some time this weekend & got the firewall pads on & the heater box(which I thought was ready) ready!  :screwy:
Had to drill out 3 holes(new metal areas) & get the cables on the heater box, I hope I got those on the right doors. then scrounge up some screws for the defroster duct, they had 4 differen screw heads in there, couldn't match the "correct" ones, but at least I have all 4 with the same head!  :dunno:

Spent most of today cutting up & piecing in my 1/2" duct liner, used that to insulate the cowl :thinkerg:  didn't wanna wait for an order, it's thicker than the jute, but I don't think it will be a problem?
