I'm on a roll, so don't get in the way in the blur I may not see you! :bricks1:
Went pretty good today, been putting off the headers a while now(since I realized they should have been laid in BEFORE I dropped the motor in) Jacked up the pass side as far as I could with one mount off & the trans mount loose, barley wedged that baby in! :faint:

Drivers side I dropped the steering links & pulled the starter this side slid up from the bottom, which is a good thing, cause with the steering in no way it was going in from the top!  :eek4:

Got the fuel pump cleaned up & painted, shot the alt with a coat a clear, gonna need some new fittings on the pump, way too big for 5/16ths hose! maybe these parts could be at home in the bay tomorrow? Just wanna paint the manifold, then dig out the carb, i might just through it back on for now(car did run 5 yrs ago) & pray, never rebuilt one, so maybe later better than now with startup looming ever clooser! :naughty: Rich.

It's startin to look like something!  :bananasmi
Fuel pump ,new alt & new dip stick are in, one belt for now, no hoses yet for the power steering, so I'll belt that up when I get the hoses, but don't need it for start up, the new focus! :bigshades:
For now I'm thinkin bypass the heater, drop in the dash, wire the absolute necessities to run it & go for startup! we will see how that works out soon!  :dunno: Rich.

D/C I almost feel bad saying this but it went in from the bottom with plenty of clearence, the worst part was tightening the nuts for the wires, there on top on the mini .
On the 74 I still can't believe I did it through the mud flap hole, large one out & mini in, guess the headers are a different brand on each car, didn't look possible that way on the 73, anyway there both 360 cars thats the big difference, maybe a different brand of headers might provide better clearence? Rich.

Hey Rich, I see a windage tray in the background in one of the pics, did you go ahead and buy the whole kit to get the main bolts you needed or are you going to put it in later? Looking GREAT btw  :cooldancing: Looks like you are really gathering steam now  :woohoo:

Well we(greg 340 & I) got a late start, buy the time we got out of the parts store with a few of the needed items & had lunch it was close to 2pm before we actually did anything on the car.
That said, the dash is in, much easier with the glass out, & I found out why you have to drop the column, the dash frame slides up the 2 studs first!  :thinkerg:

Put a few more goodies in the eng bay & started to lay out the harness that Greg so graciously provided, it's an a/c harness wish I could save it for the other car(that has a/c & another chopped harness) but maybe I can at least use some of the runs over there. :dunno:
tank to fuel pump lines done(got the right fitting) but they used 3/8 to the holly, so I'm waiting on a 3/8 fuel filter, carb gaskets & a new coil (hopefully pick up tomorrow) to get a bit more done!

It's going a lot slower than I thought this would, but I guess thats the story all the time with old cars(and a builder with no plan! ::) )
Anyway I spliced the five main igi wires that were cut under the dash, still a few small ones to trace out, but thats comming along ok
Got the trans lines in cept for 1 fitting needed at the rad, decided to forgo the external cooler for now, can always hook it up later if needed.
D/C good thing I did the tranny lines last, no way the headers & starter are going back out the same way!!!
but you can see there was plenty of room for the slide in before the trans lines were there! Rich.
