Wow, I almost forgot where this was, searched the whole resto section & thought my post had gone to the cyber arcives! :clueless:
2 more years gone by & the car is still not done :eek4:
There is hope though, as we speak my seats are in a local upholstry shop being recovered, the order for carpet headliner & some other stuff is being processed by dave & i've been hunting around my parts boxes to get set belts & hardware ready.
moneys still tight but started the year with a really big job & figgered it might be now or never, worst case we'll eat a lot of pasta for a few months! ::) Now to a couple of minor problems!

Trying to finish up a couple of loose ends on the wiring, drivers door switches I have don't match the wiring I think the 3 prong one came out of there, here's what I have, the longest one was in the trunk for the alarm.

Wires I have over there have different connectors. the black wire (single round male spade)fits the middle switch but does not seem to do anything, the yellow wire definatly controls the dome light but wont go on any switch I have & there's a black wire in the harness with it that seems to go nowhere, these both have skinny flat female spades, wiring diagram is of no help to me(well I couldnot find those wires on it.) anyone know what all three of these wires are for besides the dome light?

the only other things I can't get working are the radio & the light for the heater switch. I still have a water leak on the pass side of the cowl & can't see it from inside since I insulated it all, waiting to arrange some assistance to pull the hood & see if I can get my hand in there to seal it off, if not I gotta pull the heater box again! :'(   Nice to be back on the car in a serious way, even if I'm banging my head against the wall! ::) Rich.

Vaguely familiar with the 3-prong... Think it was a 1-yr only, maybe '71, very rare.
NAPA lists a 2-prong spade for the drivers side & a 2-prong door ajar switch (my 73 only has one maybe it's the same or could be like our old 74 Monaco that had a switch near the latch)
The jam switch is for dome light & the key buzzer.
The single round connector looks like my parking brake switch & the black wire with bullet connector plugs in there.   That or a similar switch is used for the passenger door jam on a '73

K, starting to make sense, the previous owner had an alarm system chopped into all the wiring so I should get back to stock with a 2 prong door switch for the lower yellow & black wires & check out my ebrake, I don't think I put a switch on there! Thanks Bullit, now I just wonder what the lower black wire actually does, just a ground? or something else that the switch interupts? Rich.

A big thanks to Greg340 for comming over & helping me out , we found why the tranny would not shift to low gear, trans line in the way, a little tweaking on the lines & thats done. We also got the cowl leaks on the pass side figgered out & sealed, had to pull the heater box & the rear fender splash shield & reseal a few seams where the old sealer had broken down (or been messed with when I was patching some rust) but now I can put down the noise barrier & get ready for carpet!
Also picked up the seats today, recovered at a local upholstry shop, they did a nice job & got a fairly good match on the material, not a numbers car anyway.
Removed my bench seat  :naughty:& be ready to put the buckets back in , soon i hope!  ;D Rich.

Great to see you finishing up your car Rich. When I think back to how long you have been working on it I dont feel so sorry for myself that mine is not done yet. Nothing that time and money will not solve. Great to hear from you also, how are things? I have not been on Moparnuts in a long time, I browse it from time to time but have not posted in forever.
