Well i'm still having issues with painting in the elements, some waves I missed showing up in the nice shinny clear, but as I said, get it back together & then see what I have, I might have access to a booth , so at that point maybe sand out all my yucks & shoot the last coat or 2 in there if the contacts are still available.
Finally pulled one of the doors into the shop, some light rust on the skin, back was worse that I thought, a lotta holes on the botom under the weather strippin, fixable i guess but more work! Rich.

Little swiss cheeze anyone? well I started on the small holes first, trying to save all the weird bends, the lower sections I will cut out(when my compresso gets back, seems to have puke out the cooling fan!) & make patches for!

work is slow, weather is not too bad yet, so the final push is on!
Today i messed with the 74, replaced the voltage regulator(nice having 2 of everything laying around) & took her for a short drive, runs better with the new carb, but the antifreeze leaks will have to be delt with, didn't get hot but some got on something hot under the hood & caused a bit of smoke! ;D All the neighbors were probably shakin their heads, what a hunk of Chit, but hell it was still fun!  8) Rich.

Got all the patches formed but can't use my cut off tool to get the old metal out till the compressor comes back so I flipped her over & started workin on the dings!
the pins are from my sheet metal work(smaller version of the auto work type) no slide hammer but a pair of pliers & a wedge get the job done! also welded the old moulding holes over!

Mann, it was so warm today I had to turn the heat OFF in the garage, wanted so bad to paint something but had nothing really ready! :( So I used my roto tool (compressor won't be back till mid jan.) to cut out the old metal & i got most of the patches tacked in, this grinding is gonna be FUN!  ::) Got the other door almost stripped, front done back gettin there, showed a couple a pin holes down low, but nothin like the this door! ;D Rich.

Thanks,Sheet metal tools are in my blood(or is it that they make me bleed) either way i do some tin knockin in my a/c work, the welding I'm new to with this car, I am learning, I need to develope a better touch with the welder, just seems my beads are too big, lotta grinding. maybe a Tig welder in my future, I saw a vidio demonstration on one & the guy made these little tiny beads, hardly any grinding, it has to be better for the metal, just not in the budget right now! maybe if I hit the lottery before I do the 74!  ;D Rich.

Definatly nice to see so much progress, I wish I could do so much. Are you going to weld in sub frame connectors and torque boxs, cause your at that stage of the game. And welding seems to be in your blood as well...lol I just bought my torque box,s from www.safetcap.com tho I havent welded them in yet

It was advertised with welded connectors, well, 6 bolts later & they were out, no torque boxes, not even sure I'll bother weldin the connectors, I'm not gonna race it & i've got the bottom all painted up already, can always run a few beads later if I find I need to! Rough est on HP is 350ish, don't think that will bend her?? Rich.

Gotta say the itch to stomp it won't go unscratched, did the street thing as a kid, I'll try to contain myself now, just smile, rev it a bit & let them get the ticket! Survived without killing myself or anyone else, we had a strip of road between two bridges that was very quiet at night(till we got there) but some idiots took it past the quarter & were still racing a full mile down the road, there's a parkin lot before the bridge & a small car was coming out, well needless to say at well over 100 one of em broadsided the car, killed 3 & his passenger, not sure if he made it or not, was not there that night , so our little strip was pretty much a regular patroll area for the police after that!
Plus I'm a "bit" older now, don't need to impress anyone, it will probably scare the crap outta me & I put this car together, I don't trust it to stay together! :o Rich.
