I used to work sorta outdoors, but moved inside almost 10 years ago.  I still get out in the field from time to time and I still know how to install chains in the snow.

I work outside as a Construction Inspector for water/sewer pipelines and house connections. I just stay in the truck alot if it is freezing, we've been measuring footage this week and its been unbelievably COLD!!

i was working the gate this morning at 15 degrees with no coat or gloves. my hands got so cold they started cracking and bleeding around the nails. burrrrrr. i will be pushing aircraft pallets on friday....fun fun

I do find that after a day outside in the cold. It only takes about 15 minutes in front of the wood stove and I'm sawing logs....

IMHO - big ones are over rated. A, B or C are better than alphabet soup any day.   



Big ones may be better for treating frostbite though.

Although I am kind of in limbo right now, I am working.  Probably not much longer for the same General.   
  I show up at work before the sun comes up, and leave after the sun has disappeared.    When I got to work this morning,
it was 7 degrees, when I left the temp was 10 degrees.
Wind blew all day long.  Had to work on the back side of the house with no sun and the wind blew all day long at about 15 mph.  We are doing log siding on a custom home on top of Trout Creek Pass in the Ranch of the Rockies.  Western end of the imfamous South Park area.
  We are supposedly above 15% unemployment in my county so
I am glad I am still in limbo currently.  Construction has entirely
dropped off and there are people dieing for jobs out here.
So, I don't complain about the weather.  After all, I snowboard and I am currently hunting Mountain Lions with my bow and arrow in the exact same conditions in my spare time. 
 Oh, I have to mention I am hunting Mountain lions with no dogs and no guns available.  I am calling them in with a distressed elk call.

Working a new construction site, most days it is colder inside than out, if the sun is out, at least the glue on the duct tape hasn't frozen yet, then you know it's k k k k cold out! can wear gloves about half the time, feeling in the fingers comes & goes, older I get the less I like it(the cold that is) I'tsjust the duct work & control end of the job,subbing for a geothermal guy, nice LITTLE house, 15,000 sg ft. 50 large just  for my part, can't complain though at least I'm workin the way the last year or 2 have been it's a good way to start the new year! Rich.

My 1st job was with a construction company and I spent one winter in Minn. and after about 3 years of this I had enough and have been inside working for companys everysince. I did sand down my rearend housing last weekend when it was 38 degrees outside and I was really cold when I got done with it.
