Ever regret selling your favorite car.....
« on: January 05, 2010 - 06:32:59 PM »
I did, and I am. Was watching Barrett-Jackson this past weekend and a black 1971 survivor 'Cuda 340 rolled across the block. Reminded me of my 1972 'Cuda that my dad and I restored a few years ago. I wrote a short bit about it with some photos of the car a few days ago...

I know it's been said before, but..."I wish I never sold it....."  :puke:

Thanks for posting that. I've been on the fence going back and forth on whether or not to get rid of my first car (A '71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus dressed up like a Roadrunner) as times are tough and money is even tighter. However, it was my first car and even though it needs a complete overhaul, I can't bring myself to give it up. I definitely can't give up my dad's Challenger, but I almost pulled the trigger and put my car up for sale. I'm definitely not doing it now unless my family is in total dire straits. I needed to read that as I know that is how I would feel and I try my best to have no regrets in life. :walkaway:

My first car was a 1975 Honda Civic - not much bigger than a pregnant rollerskate.  I loved that little car - it's why my daily driver is still a Civic - but I never regretted selling it.  In fact, I don't really regret selling any of my cars.  Which may be why I still have my Challenger - cause I don't want to regret it.

I regret selling my old '65 New Yorker

I really love Huge cars, this had a rockin' 413 in it. The fuel tank was shot, the power windows didnt work except for the passenger side. I didn't have time or money to park it and buy something else while I fixed the tank and all so I had to sell. I want another one. It was my daily driver and I wasn't going to drive the Challenger in the snow/salt.

My favorite memory was hauling A$$ across a school parking lot in a foot of snow and getting her into a huge donut to perfectly mash a snow man to watch the head literally roll across the trunk lid.  :roflsmiley:

Being a car nut and only being able to afford one at a time I have lots of regrets. If I was rich I would have garage full of toys. As much as I love my Cuda I have been toying with selling it to buy a Ferrari 308/328 which has also been a long time dream of mine. I'm sure I'd kick my self repeatedly but you only live once. :dunno:

Two of my Mopar's I regret selling. The 1st Challenger I had was a 71 RT 340 4-speed tawney Gold with black vinyl top and interior. Was numbers car and sold to soon and to cheap. The other was a 70 Cuda 440-6 barrel 4-speed. It came vitinum C orange with black interior was not optioned out and the original engine was long gone but ran like hell. No rallye cluster or console but had power disc brakes and needed power steering. It had a solid body and needed restored but I had a chance to double my money and sold it in early 1989 before the price went way up.

I actually had my Challenger on E-gag once with a reserve of 4,500 and it only got to 3,500 which should give you an idea how long ago that was :smilielol:

The car actually was nicer then, with the carpet, headliner, paint, new front end and brakes. I was gonna yank the engine and put it in my 79 ramcharger and replace it with the old tired one from the ram.
Thank God I didn't sell, I was a nervous wreck the whole time it was on.

As a side note, I actually sold my scout on e-bay for 3,500, the buyer deposited the 500 in my paypal acount and then never contacted me again. After several e-mails with no reply, I cashed out and said  :2thumbs: thanks!
