Detroit Locker Question

Does anybody know if it is possible to use a Detroit Locker 4.56 and up diff with 4.10s? (I'm being cheap as I can get a very good deal on a new Detroit Locker.)  :icon16:

Sorry - Dana 60.  I found out that the Richmond's 4.10 gears do fit the 4.56 and up carrier.  Most other gears need the 4.10 and under carrier.  I think the 4.56 and up carrier moves the ring gear closer to the pinion center line but I could be wrong on that one.

Is there that much difference?  I always thought the ring rear was made thicker/thinner to compensate for the pinion size as tooth count changes.

That is what I was trying to establish (would a std set of 4.10s work?)  Perhaps the carrier could have been modified to suit but it doesn't matter now I guess.

They have a series 3 dana 60 and series 4.  3 = 354 & 410  4 is 456 and up.   they make a ring gear spacer for what your asking and is used widely

I found a Mopar p/n for the ring spacer but it doesn't seem to be available anymore.  Mr. Gasket makes one though.  Then I found that you need the spacer for going the other way (putting high numerical ratio gears in a 3.54 / 4.10 carrier.
