I need some serious input here on how the heck to get the trim off of my 70 Challenger. I am trying to get the chrome window trim off of my car, both front and back. All of the trim is in perfect shape, not something I can say for the car, so that being said I am not worried about scratching the car. I have a set of plastic trim tools from Napa, but I am getting nowhere....slowly. The trim is really tight to the window and car side. Apparently it fits perfect. One of the clips was rusted and I was able to work it until it broke, but that is the only "success" I have had. It looks like the way those clips work is they clip on the car side of the trim and need to be pulled toward the window in order to release the trim. Is this correct? If so, how do you do that? The plastic trim tools only help me wedge it up from the window side. I thought about making a tool. One that has a little hook to pull the clip loose once I wedge the trim up and get access, but that seems like way too much work. What am I missing? Any input would be much appreciated. FYI - I am not worrried about damaging the weather stripping or gaskets. I am going to eventually take out the windows and strip everything down to metal.
