Cheap 1" torsion bars

Just suspension just listed their 1" torsion bars for under $160 with free shipping.  I was going to go with FF 1.06 bars but this is quite a deal and I might pick up a set and try them.  I Know some of you are cheap like me and might want to get in on this.
They are forged in the USA, so hopefully they won't be junk.

Just a matter of personal taste , I would use a 1" bar with a small block but I am used to a 89 Cummins 3/4 ton with no decernable suspension

That looks like a really good price.  I haven't looked in a while but doesn't SUmmit Racing sell those MP bars for close to $300?  :clueless:

I would love a set of those on my car.  You figure if you have 14" rims, or even 15" rims, I would imagine the tires will absorb some of the stiffness form the 1" bars.  Dpn't know from experience, just making an assumption.  :2cents:

I am wondering the same thing as far as a small block.......I have .86 bars now and its all apart.....the $300-400 proce tgae of new bars was encouraging me to go with what I have for now, but at half the price I might reconsider.

:iagree: Firmfeel recommends them for HD/street. I have all of the upgraded hotchkis front end with super stock 3600 leaf springs & edlebrock shocks. I am sure that it will corner better with these torsion bars but I am worried with the lighter small block that going on cruises might be a little to stiff? :dunno:

FWIW, the XV L1 kits are using 1.12 to 1.16 bars. So long as you have a shock to control the motion, 1" is fine. A 1" bar is only 175# of wheel rate, so it is in the neighborhood of a modern performance sedan.

I have .920's, but am on 18's so I gain some stiffness and stability from that.  :2cents:

Anyone know if these are indexed for right and left?

I just saw they listed them for Cudas, I guess I can't use them.  j/k

I run 1.12" torsion bars in my 318 powered Challenger with 15" rims and 60 series tires. I personally think it rides just fine, and its my daily driver, not just a weekend cruiser or racer. I did have to get dropped spindles to put it back at the ride height I wanted (lower than stock), but that shouldn't be an issue with 1" bars. Smoking deal!

For those of you with A-bodies, they also have 1" bars listed for them as well.
