Exhaust exit through the rocker??

Has anyone seen a Cuda or Challenger with the exhaust exiting through the rocker panel?
I have a 1973 Cuda I am working on - alter-k-tion front suspension, AAR hood, spoiler etc.  I am going for the race look and I have been toying with the idea of having the exhaust exit through the rocker panel.
Has anyone seen this done? Any pictures to share?
Any thoughts on how it would look?

My  :2cents: on this is that the exhaust exiting through the rocker, aside from cool looks, is primarily so that a lowered car doesn't have it's exhaust scraping the ground. 

That in mind, I don't know if you are planning to lower your car to that extent or if you are having the exhaust in the stock location as far as the midpipes and mufflers and are just thinking about having the tips go up and out of the rockers, but I would imagine there may be vibration issues from the exhaust, especially if you have a lump cam. 

Granted, you may design it so that the exhaust exit is not fixed to the actuaul rocker, but there would still need to be sufficient clearance so that the end of the exhaust isn't hitting the rocker.  Sort of how the Cuda exhaust goes through the rear valance.  :2cents:

That pic is of a new challenger with exhaust in the quarter panel.   I seriously looked into doing exhaust in the rockers.But it caused some problems. Need shorty custom headers to get it in there quick. And after seeing some photochopz I didn't like how it took away from the smooth lines. I'll tuck my frame connectors up and run oval stuff.
I just liked how it looked coming out from under the car more than the panel. :2cents:
Race cars have it to lower the car.IMO you can't drive a car that low on the street. I saw some cup car exhaust tips on ebunk...might modify them.They look cool too.And not too expensive.Really flat.   I'd like to see what you come up with,Good luck. R/T

I have looked at the boom tube oval exhaust pipes as well. See these used on Ebay once in a while and you can even get the x-pipe as well.
That is the other option I am considering.
I think that the oval ones would still look cool and you wouldn't have to raise the rear of the car for clearance like the original AAR was.

The oval pipes and kits are commonly used in circle track. Just find a circle track supplier! Just looking in my Motorstate catalog a manufacturer named
Boyce makes oval kits. I googled it and found this.

it takes alot of metal work to plumb exhaust through the rockers,

Looks like some very nice metal work there.
Do you have any pictures of the bottom of the car and the mods that were done to the inside floorpan?
