'70 T/A model cars
« on: January 14, 2010 - 10:26:48 PM »
I thought I'd share some pictures of the Challenger T/A's I've built over the years. The Panther Pink one was first, I built that in early 2008. The blue Challenger T/A on the far right was built in late 2008 for a forgotten Mopar type diorama. The red T/A was started in May 2008 and I finally finished it in November 2009. The first two are pretty basic. The red one has flocking for carpet, chrome trim, working hood pins, drilled out exhaust just to name a few details. The other blue T/A is the newest one I've built. I built it in late 2009 for a show in November. I managed to get 1st in my class and Best of Show Junior with it. The incorrect valance line was filled in, markers and door handles were filled, front spoilers were removed, drip rails were shaved. It's a more custom type build. Engine is wired with plug wires, throttle assembly, fuel lines and fuel filter. Interior has cloth seat belts with photo etched buckles and flocked carpet. I'm taking a break from modelling to focus on my main passion which is guitar because I plan on making a career out of it if I can find a band (which is proving to be easier said than done). Anyways, one day I'd love to have a T/A model of every colour that was available on them! So, that being said.....enjoy!!! :2thumbs:

Nice models!

Gotta ask though, how did you do the working hood pins?  Did you just take craft wire and bend it up to make the pins?  What did you use for the shafts the pins go through?  :clueless:

Nice work :2thumbs:
As for the axe work, keep it up, and the band thing eh, been there, done that, four times to be exact, and to be honest, it mostly sucked! The only really good thing thing that came from the last two bands are the songs, and believe me, writing them was like pulling teeth.  We broke up when the drummer moved back to alaska, and not a moment too soon as the rest of the band and I wanted to kick him out.

I am currently just getting back together with the other guitar player and bass plucker and sometimes smokin Smitty (singer) and a GOOD drummer, did I mention that he is good? We are not trying to gig, but prolly will here pretty soon, as talent screams to be used......does it not?

Keep playing, and trust me on this, you WILL find someone to play with :2thumbs:

Thank you! I honestly don't know, I didn't make them. A friend did for me. I originally thought they were photoetched bought but he actually makes them. I assume with what you said...craft wire. The shafts are just simple pin needles.

I was in band in my old town and I quite enjoyed it. Then again my two best friends were in it with me. It was just us three. However, my one friend who was the bass player was really picky and wanted stuff to be his way and his way only. I ended up quitting because I was moving. They got a new guitar player (two now actually) and they're playing a show at the end of the month which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Cool!  Thanks for the info.  I'll have to try to monkey with hood pins one of these days....

and if you or anyone for that matter ever needs any spare parts just let me know....this is just a portion of the stuff i have. I have flatheads, 427's, a 413 dual quad, tons of intakes and carbs, wheels, tires, exterior trim, misc junk ect ect

The second pics is the unique stuff i have...in that console is a 50's tv and next to it is a tape recorder, trophys and on the far right is a 1/24th scale tool kit.

Looking good Cody.  That's my second favorite model (71 cuda first) to build.  Got 3 or 4 done and have 4 more sitting on the shelf for a later date.
