'70 318 Challenger convertible - [SOLD]
« on: January 17, 2010 - 06:14:12 PM »
First off, this belongs to a friend of mine. He's not a member (God knows I've tried) but asked if I'd post this here for him. Okay, this is what I know: 318, 4 speed, (said it's like one of 78 or something), P/S, P/B(disc), manual top, front sway bar, needs rear floor pan, org. ice blue. He also wanted me to say, and I quote, "have a set of correct '70 fenders that will go with the car". The car is located in the Cleveland, OH area and he has a clear title for it. That's all I know. He asked that if anyone wants more info (or to make an offer) to PM me for his phone number. Since the rules state to list a price he said put down $18,000.00 but will consider offers.

Aug. 16/10 update. Saw the car last week (sorry, no additional pics). The correct "70 fenders have been mounted on the car. The price has been dropped down to $12K. As before, if interested, PM me for his phone numbers.

What a cool car. I bet it does not last long. One of these days I hope to be in a better position when these kinds of cars show up. Good luck on the sale.

Yeah, that is a pretty oddball combination. You can almost bet who ever picks it up will throw a big block in it and ruin that oddity. BTW, I'm not getting any royalties if it sells through this site.

For better or worse that is probably what I would do. I would mothball the original drivetrain and put a sb or bb stroker in that beast and cruise. Love the luggage rack.

with it being that rare you could always just build up the 318...bore and stroke it and you would have a heck of a motor

I called on this car and spoke to the owner a few weeks back. Very nice guy, very upfront about the car. I do believe it has the backseat and the correct rear interior panels. It is all there but needs a complete restoration. I think it is well worth what he wants for it, I just don't want to get into a big project at this point.

It would be a cool car done.

That looks like a cool car to cruise in.  I would patch the floors, get it mechanically safe and leave the 318 in it and cruise all day in it, mispatched colors and all...  :ylsuper:  For $12k, looks like a good deal.  Love the Pistol Grip.
