What type of fastener...
« on: September 13, 2004 - 10:40:32 AM »
Looking for guidance as to the correct type fastener used on the DODGE hood letters on a 70 Challenger R/T. CC parts book lists two differing part numbers depending on whether it's an early or late book. Is it a plastic push on retainer or a speed nut?  ??? Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I thought all the lettering and Challenger badges had a plastic sleeve retainer.

My 70 has speed nuts holding the hood letters on.

Being a stickler for this kind of stuff myself, I was glad to see there's a new book out featured in Mopar Collector's Guide that should answer about all of the fastener questions you can think of.

I believe he's coming out with a revision to cover even more stuff around March after he gets his B-body book out.
