So can anyone tell me if vinyl top's are required with louvers when they were new?

For Challengers, they were available on painted top cars BUT if a vinyl top was ordered, it had to be black.

I looked into this a while back & could not find the same data for the Barracuda, but every 1970 one I know of with louvers so far also has V1X.

Larry, even if vinyl tops were required for louvers I wouldn't add one.  I'm just trying to arm myself with knowledge for questions I'm sure to get asked.

I hear ya' considering hard tops.  Before my last two cars, my two keepers were non vinyl tops.  I like 'em that way.  One thing about living in the Northwest, if you drive them you're gonna get wet & when that happens the protectant you put on the roof makes a mess.

Iam not in a real big hurry i can wait till you get a bigger order.   I just bought a shaker hood assembly from six pack performance so the old wallet took a big hit.  So the bigger discount you can get the better.  Thanks for helping us out Chryco
