    My virus scanner (F-Secure) are blocking a Trojan that I recive from this site. Moderators please fix it, and all others please check your computer for virus and trojans!

    I just had to take my PC to the computer shop for a virus (ssm32....something like that) that hit my computer last night,but not from CC.com. My spyware program identified it, but would not get rid of it. My computer basically shut down. I'd try to reboot, but get a big warning window stating I had a virus and needed to clear it before opening any further. In the past, my old computer shop guy said Norton was garbage. So I got Macafee. Now the computer shop guy says both of them are garbage. It just ticks me off that I pay good money for anti-virus/spyware software that doesn't do what it's supposed to do. I think I need Kenneau Reeves (Matrix) to climb in my wires and breakout a can of whup arse on the virus perps!! I'm so over it. About 3 months ago it was my daughter's computer. That was $100 bucks and two trips to the computer doctor!!  So I am trying a home remedy. I coated the hard drive with Easy-off, stuck the PC in the over at 450 degrees for one hour and then cooled it on a baking rack for 30 minutes. It is nice and clean & the virus is gone!! Anyone want to buy my PC??  :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley:

    best free spyware cleaner is:

    www.malwarebytes.org

    Be safe... I am an I.T. Person for past 30 years and work on 1000s of PCs a year.

    Also myspace and facebook were hit hard this past 2 months, even FOX news estimated 23k + infection to PCs from these 2 sites.

    Nothing here. Perhaps it's from a site other than cc.c? Can you post the name of the trojan?

    Does the current chat still require folks to drop their firewall? I now my system had issues after doing that in the past, so no more chat for this kid.

    I logged in to chat last week just to see if it would work or no without any problem but no sign of a firewall issue. How long since you last ran into that issue?

    I'll second the use of malwarebytes :2thumbs:

    No problem here, I use AVG free, I used to have 2 lic's with Vet but it couldn't find a 4 y.o. virus which fried a hard drive.     :villagers:
    FEBO had a problem about a week ago where 3 or 4 virus/trojans were sent out to registered users, most users deleted without opening.    :2thumbs:

    Sorry, didn't note the name of the trojan. But it was defently from this site. My firewall reacted every time I loaded a new page or thread from this site. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up..

    I did a little snooping around and can find no issues on the site. I have never had a problem with anything like that from this site...     :dunno:   I'll keep an eye out for anything new or different that arrives here, but so far, it all looks clean...    :bigshades:

    I haven't had any problems from here either. I agree that both Norton and McAfee are not worth thr trouble. Best I have found is malwarebytes like djwhog said. And it's free.

    virus are everywhere these days,but I haven't had any trouble here,,there is a useful program called process explorer,,and its a very nice utility ,I have found programs running in my browser that were spy ware and a virus that was running in the background that was directing me to the wrong link that I actually was clicking on,the program  helped me locate the virus so I could remove it, with some other work in the registry  I was virus free again ,,I now use it along with avg free version and malwarebytes,,you can find it here http://download.cnet.com/Process-Explorer/3000-2094_4-10223605.html ,,of course this is just my  :2cents:

    Had the exact same thing hit me yesterday.  I was able to get the computer back on-line but I almost threw it out the window and went to get a new one.  This laptop is 5 years old and has traveled with me to Iraq and Afghanistan so I am reluctant to give it up.

    I use avast and mine just blocked two seperate trojan horses from facebook so be carefull if you use that site.
