I need pics. Chally with 17" rims.. ???

I run 245 / 45 -17 in back of my Chall, - but want some tires with a little more rubber (sidewall)..

Anyone runs 265 / 50 or 255 / 60 or, or, or..

I run 255/45/17 but thought of the 255/50/17 for more height while fitting on the 8" rims.

I run 255/60-17 on 17x8 wheels on the rear, and 235/60-17 on 17x7 wheels on the front.  Plenty of clearance.

i managed to get a 275 /40 17 all the way around,

i have to use a link for pix its on face book but this is the best pic i can find that shows the profile, i feel this is about as big as you can get with an 8 inch rim/wheel

275/50-17 at rear. Pretty rare tire size and I only found two "cheapish" manufacturers for these. Nitto and Falken. Mine are Falken's.

The height the tires is about the same as the very popular ebody size for rears: 275/60-15

The pics aren't the best but might give some idea. It's missing still lots of parts and also I don't think that the springs are yet settled so it sits quite high.

What rim, and backspace..

17x9.5" with 5.5" backspace, centerline daggers.

I have Dr diff 1" relocation kit with standard width E-body rear (perches cut and rewelded). It's pushing bit close to the fender lip but there is a plenty of room to the leaf spring. So if it hits the fender lip on full load I'll swap in an b-body rear which is bit narrower.
