Just a project I have been working on. Not an E body. (PAINTED)
« on: January 29, 2010 - 10:40:25 PM »
98 Dodge Ram I have been working on for a friend of mine. I did'nt take any pictures before starting it, but here are some with primer and such.

Found a little bit of mud in the fender, so I ground it out to make sure it was solid behind. No troubles it was just a small ding.

The clear was peeling really bad, so I took the hood, roof, tops of the doors, and fenders down to factory primer.

This is where the emblems were, wo took it down to bare metal in order to get all the glue off.

Started work on the bed. Had two rust holes on each side, had to weld in patches. My welding did get better as I went along

Welded the holes in the inner panel shut, then coated with epoxy.

Heres what I cut out

Welded in patches, ground the welds

More patch work

This was the best patch, as far as welding

Saw a small hole in the passenger side bottom of the bed. Turned out front and rear both had about a 3 inch hole. Made pieces to weld in. Had to hold the metal in by hand, and magnets.

Front bumper was rusted out around the top trim piece. The trim piece was loose, because the hole was enlarged. I welded a piece in, just takes enough to hold the clip tight. I will put some epoxy on it to seal it up. Thats where I am now, more to come soon.

Been at it off and on for about a month. We work on it when we both have time. It is just his daily driver, but he figured may as well fix it up a bit; rather than buying a new truck.

Got the outside of the bed in primer today. I am going to use gator guard on the inside of the bed. Had company today, so I spent more time shooting the bull than I did working.
