The tour goes through bowlin green then chatanooga then birmingham?  Odd route.  Wonder why not just go through nashville and straight down :clueless:

Hot Rod also lets the cities "BID" on how much they will "donate" to be a selected Stop Over city. We fill up all of the hotels and eat in all of the restaurants.  Helps their tax income. Never think that they just pick a route and start driving. There is some big money changing hands.

I have hotels for Iowa, Springfiled, IL, and DuQuoin,Il
Might head back to St. Louis after that Because I'm saving money for the Woodward Dream Cruise 2010!

I haven't heard anything from the MoPower Tour... so if you're planning on coming, let me know.  Lets setup meeting places for each day.

Just started making reservations this week. My co-pilot has a bunch if Holiday Inn points and we're cashing them in for the trip. Don't have all the specific locations yet. Still have to book for Birmingham and Mobile.

I know we're staying about 20 miles west of Newton, and in Marion for the Du Quoin.

Alrighty, doesn't look like MCG is doing anything this year.  So lets try to organize it ourselves.

I'm planning on getting some meeting locations for each day.  We can meet up around 9 am and cruise the Tour together.

What do you guys think?

MCG guys are planning to drive that van this year, but they are also major sponsors of Mopars in the Park which is the same weekend as the start of HRPT.

Sounds like a plan Ryan.  Do you plan on meeting up and driving together and not starting with the rest of the group?  Since we are only doing 3 days, we'll probably drive with the Hot Rod group, meaning that we are hitting every morning driver's meetings.     No sense in rushing anything. We plan on enjoying the drive and not trying to quickly get to the next stop.  In the past we rushed, only to find the same old thing at the new stop and didn't get to enjoy the drive. One year, 2 Mopar guys would drive at night to the next stop just to get there before the traffic, just to say that they finished. Didn't get to enjoy the route that was planned for us. No reason to go with the PT if you want to go to a big car show everyday. The fun is in cruising with the different cars and seeing the people in the small towns.  We'll take our time this year.

Very cool. Well then I guess the MoPower Tour is still going on.... but with no new information we still need to press on.

It is up to you guys, I never liked the morning meetings.  I just set out by myself usually.  I go on my own, or with the MoPower Group, or some friends from Chicago.  But it is fun to get a bunch of Mopars together and cruise together.

I found a Perkins that still exists... I checked. (people on last years MoPower Tour will understand this)

I'm going the first 4 cities, then detouring to Nashville & Memphis to spend a little time as one son is a country music fan. I usually just head out whenever we get up, as someone is always hitting the road at the same time. With that many cars, how can one not hitch up with a few. Not sure what I'm driving, but you guys will hate me if I drive my '63 Nova. I want to sell - and were better to let 1,000's see it in person.

I'll be at Mopars in the Park that Friday just a day before Power Tour, to set up a booth for our company. Then I'm heading to Iowa! Love this trip each year. Just plain fun.
