    Ok... so with the "extremely rusty" comment in mind.....

    The broadcast sheet calls for D21, but it appears this car has had the 4-speed hump added.


    Did you rebody the car? Or?

    Isn't D21 the code for a Heavy Duty 4-Speed Manual Transmission, or am I just having a blond moment here  :clueless:

    Yep.

    And the chassis photos show the car with a hole for the automatic in the hump, then that same hump covered with a 4-speed hump.

    Hence, my question.  ;)

    I should also ask, what title comes with the car, the one for the car from CA or the one for the other car that apparently got cut up?

    What numbers are on the intact chassis, the B0 440593 or the numbers from the CA car?

    The chassis is the CA car. I wanted to restore the first car, so my original intent was to rebody the rusted out car. The CA car was purchased as just a body shell out of a junk yard.

    Ok, so if the numbers are intact on the CA body, you need to apply to your state DMV or BMV for a state issued VIN if that cars VIN tag is missing. THEN sell it.

    If you moved the body numbers from the cut car or tranfer that dash VIN to the CA chassis it is a felony.  :2cents:

    Well... That is good to know. I do not believe the chassis had any vin left on it. I was going to just pop the vin plate on it and call it good. Seeing as the CA car was in a junk yard and not registered for a long long time. I was thinking of it like a sheet metal replacement, like a quarter panel... just a little... ahh.. more.  :grinyes:

    Check the top of the cowl & the top / backside of the radiator support (driver's side) for the chassis numbers. When you apply for the state issued VIN (& the title) those are the numbers they will go by.

    I think i would rather just sell it as 2 cars, 2 vins, bill of sale and let the buyer handle the DMV leg work. I would, of course knock enough off the price to make it worth their time.
