72-74 Rallye fender louvers...with all mounting pins intact
« on: February 03, 2010 - 11:39:12 AM »
I have two sets of the 72-74 Rallye fender louvers.  My origonals are missing most of the mounting pins.  I bought a set at the Nats 10+ years ago that are only missing 2 or so pins per side.  However the bodyshop really would like a pair that still has ALL of the pins intact and usable.  So let me know what you have...thanks...

Incase I can't find a good set, does anyone have a fix for these?  What have you done?

THat first one is a little out of my price range.  The second set looks to have a lot of pins missing.  Thanks for looking though.

I recieved an e-mail from someone who has a pair of louvers.  We'll see if we can work out a deal.

I e-mailed him back asking for another pic with all of the mounting nuts removed to I could accually see the condition of all the pins.  We'll see if his is able/silling to send another picture.

:thinkerg:  Have you ever considered drilling out the broken studs & replacing them?
Probably would need to epoxy in some all thread.   Even if you had to drill all the way through & countersink something with a head then cover with filler....I could see it working.  :2cents:

That's what we were going to do if we couldn't find some good ones.  The problem is that the area where the pins are missing is very very thin.  It is impossible to drill and tap threads in it.  Some epoxy would have to be used and I'm not sure if that area would start to crack in a couple years.

I'm sending you a PM
