Are you talking about the thick rubber that the windows slide up into? If so, it just presses up in there, but it's not the funnest job in the world. I know I had a couple of false starts. Window wouldn't seal right, etc.

Yep that's the ones? I just went out to the garage and pulled on the old seal, looks like it would pop right out if I pulled on it? Did you have to adjust the glass afterwards? :dunno:

Brad,

You are right. It pulls right out. Getting it in right isn't all that easy. If your glass is fine now, then you shouldn't need to adjust anything after you get the new seals in place. I thought I had to adjust the glass too, but I ripped the seals out and tried again, and I was lucky enough to get it right the second time....Er, maybe it was the third time?    :misbehaving:

I wasen't sure if I needed to remove anything first? Or if it would be easier if I removed something first?

Have a close look at the originals and the repros side by side. From my experience the repros are not the same profile and will no fit or seal right. Especially poor at the 1/4 glass. I know this from experience and will not use repro roof rail weatherstrips until they start making exactly like the originals.

do you soap them up before pressing them in?
This thought may not be politically correct, but is an opinion offered. It may be correct? or it may be wrong? It is not designed to appease those needing shelter from the real world.

Brads70,

Did you get the roof rail weatherstripping installed? I bought the Metro brand for my 73 'Cuda and the old weatherstripping is so bad I can't get a good compare fo the new vs the old. I get them in, but it just doesn't seem right. Maybe after they are in they tighten up, but It isn't as tight as the ones I removed. Do you have pictures after your install?

Thanks,

Gary

Just doing it now... I'll post some pictures when I'm done. Re-aligning the windows is a pain in the butt. ( I had them out )
