Body colour or black Steelies?
« on: February 08, 2010 - 04:50:26 PM »
I Recieved my photoshop images of my vision for my car, I'm just hung up on my wheels. I've got a set of steelies already and a set of road wheels aswell. I want it to be unique from others cars (rallye, magnums) and i always thought the steelies have an old school muscle look to them. I know in the end it's my decision and my car but would like to see what others think. i'm leaning towards the body colour wheels.
little things like this make me go crazy

Personally, I think black looks better with the brighter colors and body color looks better with the more subdued colors. So, black.

They both look good but I'd go with body color.  It really depends on the color.  Some colors would look better than others.  Orange works in this case.

OK, now we are talking plain steel wheels right?  The black ones look like police wheels.  If you have police wheels I'd go with the styled road wheels.  I really don't like the look of the police wheels on these cars. :2cents:

the way i see it the black would look better if i had black interior and stripe, but it seems to draw away from the white. :dunno:

yes they are the plain steel wheel with cop car caps (the ones with small holes) they are the police ones in the picture.

Gotta go with body color if you're going to use the hubcaps.  IMO, the only way black works with bright colors is if it's all-black, a la the 69 1/2 Super Bee.  That's the look I decided to go on my car.

A lot of ghost voting (voting and no comments) slackers!!! ::)

I wold usually go black and without the images probably would have go that way but after seeing those images, black rims don't really flow too well with your car. Body color looks awesome and just ties it all together. Looks like I'm with the consensus on this one.

Im a fan of the body color personally, it really just depends on the overall look your going for

I agree that if it had black interior and striping that black wheels would probably look better

Body color would look great for your wheels. In my opinion body color is ok with dark or saturated colors. For white, light yellow, light blue and so on, I'm not that fond of body colored wheels, it makes the car a grandma's grocery getter.  :-X

Both look good, but I voted for body color as it just looks right.  There's something special about orange wheels.
