    1971 Barracuda "PLYMOUTH" (the word Plymouth) emblem on nose near hood

    Could someone post a pic of the PLYMOUTH (the word Plymouth) emblem located on a 1971 Barracuda on the nose, drivers side, near the front of the hood

    Also, was this a standard emblem on all 71 Barracudas, or only if certian options were ordered?

    All 'CUDAs and Barracudas have the same Plymouth emblem '71 to '74 on the front of the hood, drivers side. Only the 1970 hood is plain with no holes for the emblem pins there.  If you buy a hood with no holes is was off a '70 (Plymouth emblem was located on the Grille for 1970)

    Sorry I don't have any pics at this time.  My hoods are in storage right now.

    But then I remembered I have an old wrecked hood in the back so here are a couple of pics.

    Not a good example but it gives you a reference to where the holes are. Obviously the P in Plymouth is hiding the third hole

      Just finnished redoing the cuda 340 emblem with my model paints. Work canceled for the day and my project is to put these and the other hood pieces back on.

    Are the holes for the emblems original or are you drilling new holes?
    The reason I ask is because I recall seeing these on before (OEM) and they are not perfectly straight. Kind of slanted angle.

    And now I think I know the reason why.

    If you try to put them on perfectly straight, level; One of the pins will end up going right thru the brace on the underside. So when they put them on; they had them slanted so as not to interfere on mounting with the re enforcement brace on the inside of the hood.
    If someone knows otherwise, please let me know.

    That must be a 70 hood I believe.
    71's had pre made holes for that emblem to sit flush underneath. They're different there on 71 up versus 70's.
